What about dowsing a picture of an old home stead?

Let's say you heard a story of an old man who had money but never spent any.
Then let's say years later 40+ years later you decided to hunt for the cache if there was a cache.
Could you not take a picture of the homestead and dowse the picture for the cache?

You would have exactly the same chance of finding loot as you would using any other dowsing method.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

I suppose you could do that.   You could also post the picture on a dartboard, put on a blindfold, and count on the dart being drawn to the target.

I think I'd rather learn as much as I could about the man and the property and then approach the whole search logically.

Goldminer? Well, close enough.

Dowsing doesn't work so it doesn't matter at all what kind of dowsing you use, it will have the same result.
