Anyone find, or have heard of Spanish coins being found on California beaches?  I know the Spanish were here for a long time, and there were numerous ship wrecks all along the coast.  I have seen some coins salvaged off of some of those wrecks.  I was wondering if there is a chance of finding any of those coins along our beaches.  I know it is likely a remote possibility, I just was curious if it was a possibility!  Thanks!

I saw this video on a Spanish ship found by a diver off the central coast which got me thinking about it.  I was just curious if anything ever washed up or was found on the beaches.

I did hear about the Salton Sea ship lost with pearls, and mission treasure stashed in the hills, ect.  It would be neat to find some coins like they do in Florida.

There is a beach in San Diego between Chula Vista and San Diego. The beach is named the Silver Strand. The curious part is the entire length of the beach is littered with silver wire. After a storm, pieces from 1 inch to 4 inches or so can be found. See if you can do some research on the place name. That will tell you why it was named as it was.

I also know a place in San Diego where you can pan for gold right in the ocean. After the spring thaw and the rivers flowing at gangbusters, the place is most productive.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.
