Hey gyrogear , thanks for the link , thats a great website.

You're welcome Karl, always glad to share. Knowledge is power.
I sprayed Roundup all along my fence line and that killed it off in a couple of weeks. When I got to looking around, I found a lot of very large vines running up into the tree tops where my spray stream wouldn't reach. That's when I got out the nippers and chainsaw. My place is now PI free.
I see you are a moderator. My last post was my 7th, but I noticed my post counter has been reset to "0". Any idea what's going on with that?

I noticed that on several folks today. The boss is in the back room making some updates so its his fault but don't worry it will get fixed soon.

Nasty little critters, no doubt about it....and then you can add the Africanized Killer Bees to the list (not to forget the odd poisonous snake or spider).   When you think about the hazards, especially outside a well manicured park, it's a wonder any of us go metal detecting with less than storm trooper armor on.

Still, if you exercise due caution, there are few hobbies anywhere near as rewarding as metal detecting.

I learned if you pop the white puskels the damage is limited some what.

Tangled with them later in Texas too!   They always Win.   Buy the time you know what's going on your dead meat. Grin

I worked  aborist/tree service for years, If you know you have made contact with poison ivy or poison oak, you can dowse yourself with rubbing alcohol immediately and let it dry,it will pretty much take care of it. The more you are around it, the more likely you are to have a worse reaction. If you have it in the backyard, (with gloves)you can cut it about waist high, and stick the root end an a can of diesel or oil, and it will rub out the entire root system.

Hey Karl.... That's some healthy looking ivy you showed there!!! The stuff grows all over the place here in New England...... and last 10 years or so it has really taken off. I cut a vine on my neighbors tree last year that was 1" in diameter and about 60 feet long!!
