Go Up Go Down

Was checking out the weather forcast and seen 3 more days of rain and THEN it said the next 6 days after that, ALL SUNSHINE and temps in the 80s.
Yeah, right, we will see how long that forecast holds up.
I am on vac the week after that, it better be nice, I want to go and dig in the dirt, NOT MUD!

Bandit, I know what you mean. The sky was black as the ace of spades when I was coming back from lunch, then it started to rain. My 'ol heart started pumping too. I live in the Missouri River bottoms of mid-Missouri. I checked the river gauge at Boonville and the River is going to 25.5 feet by Sunday. Flood stage is 21 feet and the levees are 30. Too damn close! I really don't want to see my place under water this year. Of course it could be worse. I could be in Joplin.

I am very gratefull that I am anywhere other than in the midwest right now, had a scare last night though, tornado warnings & sightings very near where I live, it all blew over and very little wind damage.
I guess that rain and gloom are much better.

Geez- Don't need the water - My office is 25 - 30 ft off the ground and the water is up to the window sills- then I just saw where family members were trying to find a relative in Joplin. There is so much going on - death , destruction, etc- it is mind-boggling!

I checked the Boonville gauge again a few minutes ago. The forecast has been revised upward to 28.8 feet by Sunday. That's only 1.2 feet of freeboard. Yikes!! Now where the hell did I put my chest waders?

The whole thing just sucks!!!! living 45 miles from Joplin...My son is there repairing downed power lines. Today he said his crew found a body in one of the sub-stations. Staying in a hotel no water and on generators. Worst death toll from one tornado (122 to date) sence 1950.
