Hi Cache, I am a machinist, on my feet all day running metal cutting machines,  drills, milling machines, lathes. Not allot of walking but allot of standing.

I know exactly what your saying...My father  was a machinist for TWA all his life.  I worked for a couple years in the tool crib. Not to sound like a girl here but I learned its all about the shoes...Comfortable padded shoes will get me thru  days of cement.

The shoes are important. The only one I can wear are the converse boots. I got a pair of the 6" tactical boots on the way. The ones I have are 5 years old and completely worn out. I have tried them all and the converse has my seal of approval.

Good night Cache, 5:00 comes early. I have a full plate this week. New job and having to build a full size cross for my church to display for Easter. Gonna be a tired puppy this week. Will post some pics when I get it done. Try to be back online tomorrow. Grin Lock the doors when ya leave so none of them escape. Grin
