Guys, my son has been traveling over  the last two weeks from the carolinas to Iowa and today Ill. Has'nt been home for 3 weeks fixing down'd power lines. He called his son tonight (my grandson age 4) and my grandson said...dad your gonna have to come cause we're about to loose power.........I'm turning off all the lights....

Yep I have told him that. I just picked a bad time when he was buying materials for there new house there building. When these storms pass  he'll get to go home on the weekends again soon. Gotta go where  the work is....When and if it gets back to narmal, He'll only drive an hour or so from home. Right now he's 2 hours from home working out of Joplin Mo. Drives down Mon. Leaves Fri. But these storms are gettin him plenty of overtime...

Oh I know work and overtime are grand , But for the last almost 28 years I sure did miss a lot of my kids growing up,
lots of milestones and birthdays and all kinds of special moments I will never get back , due to schools and deployments etc.

Don't get me wrong the Army has paid the bills and provided a good life for us. but it also took away a lot of times i can never get back.

If , I had a dependable Vehicle, and the chance to do the same, I'd be gone in a shot.

WW and I put in Satellite Systems for five years and it was one of the best times we had.

All over three States, Got home when we got home.  Had the Van set up with three months of food and provisions.

Hospital bed in the back.

Gaz cooker.

A six pack for me at the end of the day.  (WW does not indulge in the stuff)

Life was way more then cool back then.

Let the good times Role while ya can.

All the Power to him.

I understand all as-specs of it. I did'nt like not being home when they where growing up either but we had to pay the bills.  Honestly...had it not been for the wife i have now I'd still be out there...or worse???
