Which Tesoro you you swing  Detecting  BA? And remind me what you swing  Detecting  Carl? I'll get back to you later Karl...

Tesoro Vaquero an 10 X 7 elliptical widescan coil. I also have a 9 x10 elliptical concentric that came with it. Love the smaller coil though. But, 13 to 18 inches in open air on coins is more powerful than I need in a park. I am not going dig down that far down in the park because I want to keep my good standing with the rangers. I found our parks are not that old anyways, so valuable things are not much over 6 inches max. Even those dastardly UFO crashes are only down just a little deeper than that. Plus, the original abandoned sprinkler system in my favorite money park is down that far (8 inches). Found several  of the old boxes, pipes and heads. The silver ring i found recently was down just 4 inches. Where the depth will come in handy will be when I go gold prospecting in the mountains.

Well I really believe in those Tesoro products.     Me, having the Troy Shadow product's of which Troy Galloway got with Tesoro to build his detector's, I feel I have the best of both world's so to speak.  I'll never get rid of the Shadow products I have.  Highly sought after and find very few available. I'll be in trouble when I need parts though, if ever???

Cache, my primary detector has been a Lobo SuperTraq that I usually use a 10" elliptical coil with....however, I picked up 7" elliptical which was designed for the older non-supertraq lobo that is my favorite coil for trashy areas.   The new detector is a Vaquero the wife bought me for Christmas.  It uses all the same coils as the SuperTraq which helps keep the cost down, plus it is MUCH lighter.  I belt mount the Lobo, which takes care of the weight problem, but when you're belt mounted, you can't just set the detector down when you need both hands for something, makes for a real pain in the b*tt especially when your either digging or "behind the bushes".

I had the White's hip mount many years ago. I thought using it would take the weight off my arm allowing me to hunt longer without my arm getting worn out. Come to find out the box on my hip only got in the way whilst fighting the cord while digging.  I wish there was  club to join around here. I'd guess the closest is a 2 hour drive to K.C. I started a South East Ks. FB group in hopes some would find it and join. Hence the start of a club possible. Maybe over time? Meanwhile I use it to post & keep records of my finds.
