The trouble with Wild hog meat is...  they still have trichinosis and other diseases that have pretty much been eliminated from domestic hogs.

But Karl is right...  it would be fun shooting them!

Gentlemen, rest assured that I whole heartly sympathize with your wild hog and coyote problems. We have coyotes and Javelina here that are finding there way into the cities because of drought and encrochment. Wild hogs are an invasive species while coyotes are indigenous. For those of you in Texas,  read back in history as to how they dealt with the jackrabbit invasion.  Yes get rid of the wild hogs, leave the coyotes, but reduce their numbers. They are still needed in the wild to help balance nature along with wolves, and bears. We only live on this planet, not own it. Let's not destroy it.

A bad day at gold prospecting or metal detecting is better than a good day at work.

12 years ago we had a bought of Systemic Plague come through.   For three years you couldn't find a Mouse never mind a Jack Rabbit or Coyote.  Bob Cat Gone.  Mt Lions, Gone.   The First to show back up was the City Slicker Coyotes.   Eating Dogs, Cats and Trash they was here.   Have a thing about Chickens too.    Yep Ol Wile E Coyote Came Home.

Wildschwein (wild pig) is absolutely delicious----as long as you like gamey meat.  I love the stuff, but my wife won't go near it unless her only other choice is rattlesnake.  Of course, you do have to make sure it is cooked thoroughly because of the possibility of trichinosis.   No short cuts in preparation allowed.

Trichinosis or trichiniasis, is a parasitic disease caused by eating raw or undercookedpork or wild game infected with the larvae of a species of roundworm Trichinella spiralis, commonly called the trichina worm. There are eight Trichinella species; five are encapsulated and three are not.[1] Only threeTrichinella species are known to cause trichinosis:

There yards go pat. Just make sure it's well cooked and you have nothing to worry about.   Shocked
