Some where in the family we got Nancy Whisky singin Freight Train, Bill Haley Rock around the clock on 78, ansome of Elvis,s
I got bettle bug bop by the collins kids,carl mann,carl perkins, warren smith, Hank Locklin, the Platters, loads of Buddy Holly
and the man in black just to name a few.

Pat them people up there in the Mtns dont play games, if u aint never been back there , ur missing a whole differnt world. it's neat to go up there , we got some family back in them hills/ mtns. and i am telling ya most of them folks still dont have electricity when u get way back in them hollers. it's like going back in time to the 1920's

I hear ya John, thems the best kind of folks , then u really get to learn whats important in life, and it sure aint, fancy cars, phones or boats, or even MD's ,  It's Family and Friends and taking care of each other.

Karl, I have outlived most of my hill family. We didnt have detectors back in the hills, that was a rich persons toy. Thanks for reminding me of the memories. I always wonder about going back and detecting all the areas with the new knowledge I have learned here.       

Some people would consider em dumb, but they were hard people who lived a hard life, and had to get up everyday and know the weather, and what needed to be done. I didnt live there all my life, I got out and seen the world. But I do miss the simple times.

U should go back if u get the chance, we always go at least once a year when possible.
there is nothing like being way back in the mtns with them folks, u talk about a slowed down pace and a good way of life, most them folks farm, raise there own crops and cows pigs chickens etc, and seem to live forever, and use the cooking fat for frying everything and seem to live a lot longer than most city folks !!

I guess it's cause there is no preservatives in there foods !!
most of them down in the hollers where my wifes folks are still get there water from wells or clear water mtn springs , and i would say the majority still make shine back up in them hills and hollers,

it really is a neat way of life.  I love going back up there and being on the farm, aint nothing else like it.
