Christian,
Do you know anything about this detector?

I read on another forum where it gets great depth in good soil but doesn't do very well in mineralized soil.

Hello Dave!

I hope you have happy holidays!

I have heared a bit about this detector before but have never used it myself yet. As it is a PI design it shouldn't get troubled by mineralization. It is a rather cheap device but from what I've heared it's results are not too bad while some of the more expensive units will probably outperform it.

Regards,

Christoan

I would probably try a used Minelab SD-2000 with a 18 or 25" coil. This would probably outperform the machine listed above for the same price.

Yes, I think so, too. Right now I'm pesonally looking for a used GP-3000 from Minelab.

Since the new model came out - there are a lot of used machines coming onto the market like the GP3000- GP3500. You shouldn't have any problems picking one up at a good price. Try Ebay or one of the gold nugget prospecting forums. They all have classifieds.
