Well when i was out in the desert one day, i was lost, and gettin plum skeered, only direction i could find was up and down, was cloudy/bright/no sun, run into, well nearly/ this purty cactus flower , sombody sed you could eat cactus, so i shaved some spines off and cut me a chunk, HMM not bad bout like eatin a potato and lots o water in it, but them spines will go right thru the side of elk hide boots, dang they sharp, guess the bones was a bonus, lotta them in the desert.
other pic is up mt Taylor at round 10.000 ft or so in july, sure was cold, didn't find nothin but some hotrocks and iron
