im grateful for your thoughts...but those crumbs would take forever to add up..
i want to be beepin on a practically whole new plateau w/x4k..
3 feet down that puppy goes..down where you can rest assured nobody else has plundered.

that bugs high freq. turns me on..but to get those little crumbs doesnt.

i want chunks..something that when i set it down in the back of my quad..the shocks drop a couple inches

I've paid that GB2 over many times with the "crumbs" I found  faster then the SD2000 I had which I brought around the same time. Some types of gold can't even be detected by the SD, GP or GPX series Minelabs. The GB2 picks up everything. Besides- anyone can find the big ones but it takes a lot of skill to find the really tiny ones and I enjoy the challenge.

Steve

THIS UNIT DOES NOT GO DEEP ENOUGH Cry

This is the best small nugget detector made - bar none. You have to sacrifice a little depth to find the small ones. I know you won't believe me but I've picked up small pieces 1/10th the size of a pinhead. You really have to concentrate just to hear the rise in threshold. Grin

A perfect gold prospectors set up would be a Minelab GPX4000 and the Gold Bug 2 with a      6 1/2" coil.

Steve

OK  i gotta question on the  Gold Bug, or bugs, when usin them do you depend on the threshold change in volume, or do you get beeps also, i never been around one,  do you ever find many nuggets that would be th size of a, BB, or are most of them smaller like you were talking of, in pinhead size, i just don't know what to expect, as i would like to try it, and i really don't have a ton o cash, most the detectors i have at present (due to change at any time) i can test them on very small gold earrings, or the clasp on small necklace chains, but can't be over maybe 4-5 inches at the most,, if i understand right, that just wouldn't cut it would it, i just really think i would like to find some bigger stuff, but i imagine everybody else would too, what would be an affordable but practicle way to go on this, since i know nothing about this kind of detecting, i been at since 75, but never anythinhg of this sort,
Thanks for your time,
Boog

BOOGS~SHOP AROUND ON EBAY FOR GP-3000.
THEY R AS EASY TO USE AS ANY OF YOUR DETECTORS.THE THRESHOLD COMES TO PLAY WHEN U WANT EVERY LITTLE CRUMB.
PERSONALLY,I WOULD BLOW OFF THE LITTLE ONES,& JUST WAIT FOR THAT EERIE SOUND SHE MAKES WHEN SHE'S ON TO SOMETHIN..I MEAN..I KNOW YOU DIG ALL..& I USUALLY DO TOO..SPECIALLY WHEN SLIM PICKINS..BUT..IF ITS A GOOD DAY..I DONT MESS WITH ZINC OR MOST JUNK SIGNALS..LIKE TO SPEND TIME ON THE SOUNDS THAT MAKE THE BINGO NOISE  Grin

ALSO~USE PAYPAL IF YOU BUY.YOU ARE COVERED NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENS Grin
