I work directly on the site where part of the Battle of the Wilderness was
fought. The area of General Braddocks defeat. This past Thurs. as I left work
at 3PM I saw that an old building(aprox. 1880's) was being razed. The foundation was dug out & the hole was about 25'x100'x8'deep. Due to other obligations I
was unable to drive home(20 mins.) & return with my gear. I took my detector to work yesterday planning to jump in there at 3 o'clock. Not even thinking of what
coins might be found, I had my sights set on relics of that battle on July 9,1755.
Unfortunately, by the time I got there, they had added 3 or 4 feet of junky debris
to that hole. Just my luck. I'll keep my eyes open as they are demolishing many old
bldgs. in this area.
