I have heard that you can retrieve a topic that you have posted even though that topic/post is no longer on the internet.  Is this true...and, if it is true, could you please tell me how to go about retrieving an old post??
  Thank-you very much!!

Hello . If the post has not been deleted from this forum you can use the forum search tool on the top right of any forum page . The only other option would be if you found the Thunting topic on google and the page is cached or saved . Be a little more specific on your question . Hopefully you will get the right answer soon .

Regards............Eugene

The post that I am trying to retrieve was posted on a different web site...I'm not even sure which one but it wasn't this one.  Is there a way, a place in cyber-space, where I can retrieve the post by ding a title search?
Thanks for the replies seldom and Eugene.

If you know the title, a google search may bring it up. If it was deleted from a forum don't think you will be able to  retrieve it. Also if it was posted on a private forum the search engines are unable troll them. If you posted it lately try your browser history with Firefox I can look back 30 days I think.

seldom,
Tried all of the that....nothing.  I had heard, years ago, that there was a permanant record of everything posted to the internet, and that this information could be accessed as long as you knew how to do it.  It's possible that this was just a misunderstanding on my part.
I am not 100% sure of the title of the post I am trying to retrieve....something like "Treasure Signs on Mount Rushmore".  Posted by dign4it or stilldign.  It was posted either on the treasurenet or ancientlosttreasures web site.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

GD,
No, that's not the one that I'm looking for.  As I stated...I'm not 100% sure of the title...but it was something like: "Treasure signs on Mount Rushmore"...or..."Treasure room on mount Rushmore"...something along those lines.
Hey, I really appreciate the fact that your looking.  Keep track of the time you spend looking, if you find it I'll make it worth your while!!!  This offer goes out to everyone who reads this post.
  Again, thanks GD.
  Sincerely,
  dign4it

Failing that, try the WayBack Machine. Look it up on Google and do your search using their search engine. It has no depth to it so you need to go only to the page you are looking for. In other words, if you find the front page of a forum, it would be a waste of time to go there because all the links are dead. If look at all the listings, you will eventually find what you are looking for. Again, only the page you find can be read. None of the links are "live" links. The direct link is below but the Google search will reveal more archiving things like Deja Vue, Deja News and so forth.
