Another white buffalo has joined us. Lightning killed the other one in Nov & this one was born last month. A bit uncanny . . . esp with the 1 in 10 million buffalos born are white. Sue

FARMINGTON, Pennsylvania: American Indians from several tribes gathered this weekend for the naming ceremony of a rare white baby buffalo born last month at a private zoo.
White buffalos are considered sacred by many American Indian tribes as omens of good fortune and peace.
. . . . the animal born Nov. 12 was named Kenahkihinen, a Lenape word meaning "watch over us."
One in 10 million buffaloes is born white . . . The color results from a rare recessive gene that both parents must possess.
