BLAIRSTOWN TWP. | It lay forgotten and buried for more than 50 years in the yard outside a home on Route 94.
The teething ring that survived time is adorned with a sterling silver bell inscribed with details about its owner.
When the current resident's metal detector reacted to the bell several weeks ago, 64-year-old Brynn Daigle started digging.
He quickly unearthed the half-century old relic of another's infancy. The inscription on the bell -- surprisingly intact -- showed the teething ring belonged to Gary Barker, born 7:02 a.m. April 14, 1951. The 21-inch-long baby weighed in at 8 pounds, 7.5 ounces, the bell revealed. . . . . . .
