I think it's funny now..you see here in Canada the police don't pull guns..well not back then...totally differant way of doing things..here, in many cases you get out of your car and meet the Officer half way..
And the second part of the story is this,

we were a few miles north of the Georgia Line..a few miles into Georgia we stopped for fuel, and food.
My Friend and his Girlfriend ran into the resturant..while I stayed with the car to fill it up.
A rather old Black man kinda shuffled out to fuel the car...he looked at it and asked ( in a thick Southern Drall) "Whats that all over your car"
I replied.. "it's salt"...he looked at it for awhile then slowly said "people down here put wax on our cars"

Total culture shock as it was my first trip South.

Been there too many times to count since..love it!!!

Love PA Maryland, Va Nc......hunted in those States and always found people there that would take me out!!

Thanks..my story was not an insult to anyone...just one of those things that happens to me. LOL

Shortly after that I started re-enacting..got with a unit in PA..they were the 2nd NC, also joined a unit up here, the 10th LA..eventually made to Staff for the 1st Div ANV ( 3000 members) and became the Provost Marshal.

I met many Great people and have been taken relic hunting from the Gettysburg area in the North to Willmington in the South..many great finds!!

Love it in Va, NC!!!
