i've been looking into this site for about 6 months off & on & i think i'm ready to hit it. it's an old ferry site that was in operation from mid 18th & 19th centuries.
found it's location and menu of charges thru local library.menu dated 1760 shows half pense up to crowns.have been to site once,but have not detected yet.on landing site where boathouse existed,i have found what i believe is old service road leading from woods to river bank. on other side of river,have located what may have been other landing site,but not too sure.i've included a couple pix~one showing trestle dated 1904 where boathouse once existed.the other is taken from boathouse site looking downstream.another is approx. 1 mile from site.
