Many people find differant sizes of "musketballs" and I am asked on several forums to ID what kind of gun fired them...well for the most part it is impossible to tell.
However many of these balls may have been from hunting guns..not just military weapons
"Punt Guns" have been around from the 1500s..here is a video of one being fired.
Check it out..it's the only one I have ever seen being shot...Punt Guns were usualy mounted on a swivel at the front of a "punt" ( a small flat bottomed boat) and used to hunt Birds.

Here the link, it's well worth the watch

LOL- Grin It's no wonder he didn't fire it like a normal weapon. It would have taken his shoulder off. Good video- Thanks

When I took my daughter down to the range to zero in the rifle.  There was a dude there who had a WWII Enfield that he made a Golf Ball Launcher.  It was pretty cool my daughter had a blast shooting golf balls over the mountain.

Well what he had was a  Grenade launcher for the number 4 Lee Enfield..we used them in WW2 and they launched grenades with a blank round...you can still buy these launchers as they are common...never thought of firering golf balls with one...I gotta try it!!
