Go Up Go Down

Happy 2010 to all.  May your homes be flooded with great health and may an avalanche of good fortune befall you all. Howzat for turning something catastrophic into something good.

Below, some rock scribbles that we found.  Is anyone out there able to ID them or translate the script.  The closest we have come to Id ing the pictures of humans are, we feel they resemble the "Birch Bark Writings" Hands are similar, clothing differs.

Any light shed on them would be appreciated.

Regards to all

That would help if we knew where they were found.

There you go the marks look fresh no discoloring. The last pic looks like writing then scratched out.

Go Up Go Down

Hi. At first we also thought they were done recently but then had to re think as we discovered a date in one of the pictures, 1885. the area is half a day hike up into the mountains of Macedonia along dirt tracks, can't call them roads.  Maybe a tractor could wend its way up but by the looks of things nothing of the likes has been in the area for many a year.

I can't argue the point of whether or not they were done by children, the kids would have needed to be quite tall or good at rock climbing to have made some of the drawings.  I have more drawings but since they have come out so bad, chose only to post the good ones.

The rock face is in a very bad way due to weathering as well as a lot of scratching out that has taken place, by vandals ..... who knows?

I don't mind you lot being sceptical, for all one knows I could have done them myself. Fat hoax.

If anyone out there can just interpret the writings that would be good enough for me.
Sorry don't have a bigger or better picture of No.8.

Regards to ya all

I don't think you did it. I think the date could also be faked. The color of the scratches to me looks like fresh scratched limestone. I recently went to a spot that has Native American pictographs and they had been vandalized since the last time I had visited them about 2 months ago. I hate when people do that and destroy great pieces of history for eveybody else! I hope you find out what they are. Best of luck

With the heavy weathering, I don't thing if it were very old it would still be there. So I thing it was done recently.
