Well Gang, I did a dumb thing. I left my detector in my vehicle over night and some one got it.  Dag nabit, went hunting an old farm site yesterday, got into a very good area where the coins dated to 1920, even found a very nice solid silver religious pendant. Went to go back today and no machine. I live on disability, so replacement is gonna be awhile. Valuable lesson folks. I never do that. Time to place some of my finds on craigs list along with some of my bottles. This site I am hunting dates to 1870's, just started hunting it , is very large area. I am pretty sure no one else has been there detecting. The buildings are gone but old rock foundations remain. This site is gonna give up some very nice finds.

Keep hunting

hmmm sorry to hear that tuf Luck I know how you must feel even though Ive never had a machine nicked off of myself.
Ive never left it in the car either they cost too much and too many people these days think nothing of breaking into cars vans or anything where there might be a valuable for a fix for the next few hours.
you should have your car alarmed these days. A little protections better than none.  Hope you report it to the cops but I doubt if you will ever see it again. Tuf luck you wont do that again in a hurry. Shocked

I'm very sorry to hear that! I've got a very bad habit of doing that. Half the time i leave my car keys in the ignition as well...I'll take this to heart and stop leaving mine in the car. I truly hope you get it back. I'm sure you'll take the time to check local pawn shops and such...Good luck!

Yes I am so mad at myself, Gonna send myself to bed early with no dinner or TV. That will teach me.  Had my ex take my other one  thru a divorce also.  Club.  I guess the up side would be that winter is setting in here in wash. state so the season is about over. That gives me all winter to do home work for new sites and sell hot dogs and gum on the street corner to raise funds .  Funny.

Sorry to hear that-and sorry to hear that we've got sorry low life's who prey on others. It is never a good idea to leave anything of value in vehicles-sad to say, it is getting where even your home isn't a safe place for keeping valuable equiptment or other stuff. Folks like druggies and other low lifes will even break into homes with folks at home and take stuff by force-sad to say---just terrible out here these days---I'd check pawn shops and report to police your loss-hope you had serial numbers written down so police can i.d. detector at pawn shops or you can I.d at these shops.  I know a fellow who was a bass player and had a pair of boots that cost about three hundred and something dollars stolen from his car in nashville-the odd thing was they took that pair of boots and pawned his $2,000 electric bass somewhere in nashville for a little cash--he reported it and got his bass back in less than two or three days-cops found it in the pawn shop. So, you may have a chance for a recovery of your detector-maybe!  If you have detecting buddies like I do, then I'm sure you may be able to borrow a friend's spare detector and continue doing your hunting-just don't repeat the same mistake with their detector of leaving it in car, etc.---treasuremomo

Good morning, Cry
Yeppers, I am gonna turn the numbers over to a couple pawn shops and file a police report. Sure do not understand why I did not remember to take my machine out when i got home. Think it might just be the- almost old guy memory lapse-. I re-learned a good lesson this time. Folks just need to stop this kind of garbage, get a job and buy what they want. Bummer

So sorry to hear about your toy getting swiped. I often leave mine in the car if I plan on going out again the next morning.  Dumb thing to do, obviously.  It's an open invitation to theives.  I hope their bad Karma catches up with them!  Cry

Sorry to hear about the loss of the machine.  Hopefully you're back up and running again soon so you can get back to that farm.

Good luck.
