Go Up Go Down

This weekend is the Sullivan County, PA Fall Festival and we had the Chainsaw carvers they are some awesome artists.  Just wanted to let ya'll see some of their work.  The last pic was 4 hours into the compatition with 5 hours to go.  I was covering the event as a EMT for the local Vol Fire Co Ambulance.

Katie Bell fell in love with the bench...Cheesy...it has so much detail and being made out of 1 log is really cool

Great pics Jim!

Do the carvers ONLY use a chainsaw to produce those or do they also use any otehr kind of woodworking / carving tools? I just can't believe that you can produce these fantastic details just with a chainsaw!?

Best wishes,

Christian

at the fall festival they can only use chainsaws but at their homes or shops they use whatever power tools to get some of the detais.  Most of the carvers use 4 or 5 different chainsaws with small carving bars to large bars for cutting the slabs and roughing out the log

No Dean i haven't but I would be happy to help out if I was asked.  I have a disabled friend who loves that Civil War Stuff but he seems to hear about them after they are over...lol...He is waiting for them to do one in our back yard I think, I try to get him to do more but it just seems like he doesn't want to put forth the effort...Sad
