I still have a 61 Heavy Chevy that gets driven once in a while. My first car was a 54 Dodge, it had a shift-o-matic tranny in it. You could let it shift two ranges or shift it with the clutch three speeds. Flat Six made it go. Didn't have any polish so rubbed down with oil to give her some shine.  Grin

My first car was  a Mercury 1953 . Flathead V8 , Powerglide automatic transmission . It was a two door , red with a black roof . Oh how I liked that car . My next car was a 1967 Chevy , standard transmission  . I totalled that car . It tought me a lesson to watch these fog banks as you may have in the Sacramento valey . Especially in the peach and walnut orchards  . I gave the Mercury away to some poor lady who had no wheels at all . That was the dumbest thing I ever did .  Cornelius

Go Up Go Down

My first vehicle was a red 57 Ford pick up truck that had seen it's better days long before I got it. Heater only worked in the summer so I'd have to stop & scrape frost off the inside windows in the winter. Plus side - it would start in the a.m. no matter how cold because I could kill it with the choke. It had a broom and a shovel in the stock rack holes, behind the cab, when I got it, so I just left them there. People would ask me to haul things to the dump - broom & shovel made them think I was in the business, I guess. I never turned anyone down and that truck made me extra bucks. Finally sold it to a guy who pestered me over and over again as he wanted it. Sue
