Go Up Go Down

I had it all sorted, her indoors is at work today, so the day is all mine. a quick job this morning to run some cables and hook up a couple of tele's , then home for a cuppa, then down to the beach and park for 2-3 hours to see what i could find.  Detecting
it sounded so good when i was working it out in my head.
so yesterday i got a phone call...last thing, end of the day, a bargain department store i've done work for before, they can't get their display TV's going.. a problem with some cables.. blah blah blah..
sure i say, i can swing by in the morning on the way out and have a look.
so what do i find...? any one? any one? beuller?
the stupid buggers had only moved the TV department! shifted it across the store and were now worried because this weekend is a holiday weekend here, (national holiday on monday), and they have advertised a sale on TV's and didn't have any going    {alt}
so i spent nearly 5 hours rewiring the damn store so they could turn on the TV's!!
why the hell couldn't they have done this at the beginning of the week instead of screwing up my saturday ??  {alt}
and i didn't even get to the job i had organised, so that had to be put off till next week.

the best laid plans huh....

I hope you charged them at your weekend rates. Probably a better cash day than you would have had at the beach. You'll just have to put off visiting the bikini clad gals.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

yeah it's not so bad looking back now.   Wink
having planned a lovely day for me, i didn't get to do any of it!
but hey! i did a great job and it looked good when i left, so they will be happy to pay the
big bill they are going to get  Grin

and no time today either
her indoors asked me to go help her sort out some stock that's all messed up at the place she works. it was her day off but she's a dedicated thing, so spent a couple of hours doing a mini stock take. but she did buy me lunch to say thanks, so i'm happy   Kiss

That was some Deja Vu JJ  Grin I've had similar experiences with a "quick" job. I spend the whole time stressed trying salvage a bit of day but it never turns out it seems. Good story!  Smiley

I couldn't salvage a day to save my life. If it isn't work it is some act of God set to make my life miserable. I have to plan months in advance just to get some swing time in and even that isn't full proof.

Cheers

Sean
