I know, not of my business, but I thought some of you would like to share about what do you do with your finds. For example, I know that many of you are or become coin or relic collectors while others just sell their finds. Some jewelry pieces are keepers while I know some others sell them.

In my case, I decided to split my clad finds between getting new things I need in relation to the huntings (e.g., batteries, books) and the other portion I started to invest in US Mint coins. All my silver and old coins I keep, unless I have repeats in which case I'd consider selling them or trade for other coins. Jewelry I'm keeping for now for I don't have much. But I know folks that find them almost weekly. I thought this would be a good discussion.  Wink

One year, a long time ago, I saved just the quarters in a big glass jar that used to contain muriatic acid for pool cleaning. It was huge. Probably 20 gallons. I couldn't even lift the thing any more when it had coins in it. Over the course of a year, I collected 8,000 quarters which paid for an entire family vacation. For those of you doing the math, that's more than 20 per day. I was out every night, rain or shine, after work.

Ah, to be back in my prime again. Can't do that now.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.
