Hey guys, what about a hunting vest? I have been considering it to carry essentials. It is true that its a pain to carry stuff in the pant's pockets.

I used to wear one but switched over to a bright fluorescent yellow one which serves two purposes. It keeps me visible but it also keeps people away. They think I'm where I am for some official purpose and leave me alone. Sweet.

My belt has all sorts of things in pouches all around it. Dog biscuits for my best buddy, water, lunch, tools, spare batteries and still has three areas for finds. One for rubbish (Large), one for keepers (which I occasionally show to folks) and one for extra special finds that nobody gets to see until I get back home.

I converted an old fishing creel into to my finds and tool bag, I carry only a trowel and
a pin pointer.

I split this topic from the original for obvious reasons. This is an interesting subject that needs its own topic.

Yes I was thinking about the same thing but was not to sure what to call it and So you did it first well done.
@ Cyberborikua Trust me mate I don't have any thing in my pockets accept for a handkerchief it all goes in the bag side pockets for the smaller things and the bag for the large and heavier things like watter and my 7AH battery which fits in the bottom bag put it this way this bag is split in three main compartments top (first aid kit only) middle (it's the larger one for water, towel, and spares) bottom (battery only) and side pockets for all the digging tools and finds which so far has been 100% rubbish  Grin

What is the price of a vest like that opposed to a back pack?

Well 69 bucks would be totally out for me I payed 25 bucks for my back pack. I guess that you could find a reasonable one for more or less the same price then.
