Hello, i had to write a forward for my web site page for george washington inaugural button library, looking for some feedback
Economically, each of us acts like Robinson Crusoe on his own little island of collectable interests. If we fail to arouse the interest of new people in our field of endeavor, and we do not encourage competition for ourselves, we in-turn diminish our own prize collectable interests. Furthermore, who will then appreciate the diligent efforts we have painstakingly taken in order to obtain our valuable pieces in our collections. Who will know of all our dedicated efforts, and hard work to obtain the necessary information and details through tireless research and questions about the subject and pieces we collect. Without promoting healthy a competition, how would we, or can we place a value on the individual pieces in our esteemed collections? If our past fellow collectors choose the path of a recluse, and kept the research and values of their collection to themselves, they would have died with all their wealth of information, as well as their sources of knowledge. As a collector, can we legitimately be so egocentrically that we cannot share our lifetimes hard work and efforts for future generations, or will our hard work and collections be for nothing? This could be the most serious loss of all -- the loss of the wealth of knowledge for America's future generations. ~ This is why i started this site, and have worked diligently for years in it's creation.~
~A nameless unimportant collector who helped America have a future Legacy~
