The most vulnerable part of nature is fresh water. According to experts, in some areas of land 80% of all diseases are caused by poor-quality water. Despite some positive developments in this area in recent years, 1 billion people still do not have sustainable access to safe drinking water. By 2025, half the world's population, that is about 3.5 billion people will face severe water shortages. Governments in many countries have chosen an original way to attract public attention to the problem.
In this topic, I'll tell you about the interesting coins on the problem of lack of clean water.
So, the Indian government decided to mint the above coin in an effort to educate the people regarding the importance and the value of water.
To highlight the necessity to give much higher priority for ensuring safe drinking water and sustainable water supply, this 2 rupees commemorative coin was issued for general circulation on 16th October,1994 – the World Food Day.
National Bank of Ukraine 25 May 2007 introduced a new commemorative coin denominations of 20 and 5 hryvnia "Clean water is the source of life." The obverse of the coin in the center circle shows a drop of water and the water surface and radiating in all directions in circles. On the back side you can see the symbolic composition - the human head bowed before the waterfall.
Coin "Clean water is the source of life" was the winner of the international competition of coins "Coin Constellation-2008" in the category "Unique idea solution."
In 2009, the Bank of Latvia has issued a new silver "coin of water." The obverse of the coin depicts a drop of water on the reverse - ice crystal.
The reverse shows the human intervention in the harmony of nature. The idea of introducing an element of the human mind and the power encoded in the unusual form of the coin, in the form of a square as opposed to a sophisticated form of water. The coin is legal tender in Latvia, circulation - 7 thousand copies.
So far, that's all. Thank you for your attention to this subject.
Regards Antony.
