Like the song by Credence Clearwater Revival says, "Looks like we're in for nasty weather . . ."

We are bracing for yet one more Nor'easter today with winds of 50mph+ and snow up to 6" deep or more in my area. We have seen remarkably warm days melting the ground frost down to about 3 inches with the ground still frozen down to 10 inches. The snow will insulate the ground and even with rising temperatures, delay the spring thaw. We expect this storm to last two days like it has in the Midwest. Once again, we've got the generator ready and plenty of provisions. The worst part of all this is that the dogs become housebound because of the chances of trees dropping on the property or downed power lines. I have to take them out on a leash rather than let them roam for a half hour.

We may also lose our Internet connection for a while. If we do, those of you who will miss me are in for a rough patch without the old GoldDigger. To those who won't miss me, see you on the other side of the storm.

It's holding off until early evening now. We're fine until then.

Well, lay in some wood, keep the batteries handy, and make a night of it while you and your wife dream of curling up together surrounded by giant artic camels.

But then he'd have to deal with all those tropical depressions, storms, and hurricanes.

As usual, we pay attention to the weather forecasters and lay in a stock of provisions, lamp oil, matches, candles, water, non-perishable food, gasoline (for the generator and snow blower), fill both cars with gas and laid by some extra dog food. We're braced for shock and awe from the weather gods.

And this morning, we woke up to less than half an inch. The roads don't even need plowing.

This morning, they're saying the worst will come tonight rather than what we expected last night. We're ready, Mother Nature. Bring it on! We're expecting sunny and 52 on Sunday. Ah, New England. You never disappoint.

All the best GD but I'm sure that you will be OK, ho by the way there's a product on the market that's called LED lighting no need for matches does not drip and there's no risk of the dog catching on fire either, it runs on batteries and the best part is that you can even recharge them with a solar panel. Don't you just love technology?
