Saw some pictures somewhere of a chap using what looked like a plum-bob type object on a string to find locations of gold or mines over a map, I cannot find the article and don't remember what it was exactly-  anybody here got any ideas???   Thanks,  Bugar

Dell Winders, my buddy has purchased two of your units--one for gold and another for gold and silver. He's found some small silver items including a silver salt shaker with it he claims, but when I've been with him on searches with the units, we've found nothing-Zilch! I've wanted to believe in this Dowsing business, but we never can locate anything on our hunts with L-RODS or Anderson type rods. He's built several really decent looking directional locators and we've tried them out and absolutely get a pull toward something but can't make recoveries---I've got a can with two gold rings and some silver coins including two seated liberty halves and some plated spoons. I know where the can was buried for testing and no one was with me when I buried it early one morning about daylight 22 inches to the top of the jar in a posthole I dug. That's been over eight years ago and even trenching has not allowed us to find that jar of valuables. What's your advice for us?
WHAT'S THE BEST TYPE DOWSING METHOD TO USE? None has worked for making a recovery for me yet!

Ouch! That's a problem which I may not be of much help. Embarrassed These are physics limitations common among most Frequency Discrimination LRL's. The frequency won't transmit through an air cavity, or Glass, and Aluminum reflects the Signal. A harmonic sub-frequency for Zinc, might detect the cap. but I can't help you with that.  If the glass breaks, or the cap oxides enough for the jar to fill with soil or water, then the emanating "field" of the Gold, or Silver, might be detectable.

Pulse induction are excellent Metal detectors, but like all metal detectors the larger the surface area of the target, the deeper it will detect it. Your Zinc jar lid is a small target, and even with an 18 inch coil, it may only detect the Zinc jar lid from 15-20 inches deep when it is well tuned. Perform an air test on a Zinc Jar lid to learn how far it will detect it, then deduct 2-4 inches for ground penetration.

Idon't know which models your friend, but since they are older models, they probably have ground probes. Here's something for him to try. With the GS model, DON't place the probes in the ground (ground mode). Instead, Point them in the air (air mode) then use his directional locator to trace the signal line, or leaving the transmitter in place, triangulate on the target with the Directional Locator. The broadcast frequency will discriminate the target.

My home phone number is 863 422 5454. You, or your partner can call, leave a message, and I will return your call and try to answer any questions, and explain survey procedures  that may help you use your LRL more effeciently.   Dell

See? There's ALWAYS an excuse, erm, make that a reason, why a dowsing or LRL didn't work - this time. Go ahead and ask for a refund. See what happens then.

GoldDigger1950, I'm with you on the Dowsing subject but I have some reservations. I believe the mind is a complex tool. If a few (and limited few) may be able to extend their vision out over a couple of bent rods, or whatever and lead them in the right direction so be it. I won't argue. But when extravagant amounts of money are spent with empty promises of riches are spent it give the hobby a bad name.
That's why I prefer small animal sacrifices and blood letting before I go out.   Grin Just kidding.

I try to sacrifice those itty-bitty, tiny, black winged animals in great numbers.

As to dowsing, nobody would be more pleased that I would if it worked. But sadly, it doesn't.

To answer your question, Bugar, it is called Map Dowsing and you can find a lot about it using a Google search.

NOBODY wishes dowsing worked any greater than I, but I want proof...and I've done plenty of dowsing. Funny thing is that I can get a line on KNOWN caches...the kind I put there myself for testing, but can't seem to ind any real unexpected caches. And I can't even find one cache that I buried years ago with gold and silver in it...an old jar with an antique zinc lid. That's been in ground over 8 years and no luck even though we've used 2-box machines and one fellow used a $3400 PI unit that he wasn't too use to yet. NO FIND!!!!!
