Hello everyone & Good day to all,

Just got my 1st ever Fisher Detector, a very nice condition 1266X-B with 10.5" open spider coil, Original owners manual & Custom Fisher carry case which even has the original key to work that locking center latch. Wink

{alt}

1st. impressions after a quick new 8 AA battery install & powered up with a 10 minute sweeping scan, she seems like a very solid unit that's capable of great things both above & below the surface.

As some of you know this Iconic machines history, she's one deep seeker that doesn't take a back seat to anyones box. Yes this is an automatic ground balancing turn on & go machine with seemingly simple controls to set, then the treasures just beeps off allowing you to recover its mother load.

But this machines electronics are so technologically advanced & variably precise, with giving up multiple musical scale notes to its owner, one needs to have the will & determination to listen to what she's telling you. Once you have learned the sweet tones this beauty is singing in your ear which can be attained in a reasonable time period, then she will give up the ghost & reveal the precious buried gold & silver relic treasures of the past...

I hope you enjoyed these short thoughts on my new, but well cared for Fisher 1266X!

Cheers,  Great
Jim

Thanks John, appreciate your reply.

Sounds like you might be familiar with this model, and I would guess that there still in use down in Va and seeking deep CW relics.
(Any advice or info on these besides whats posted on the net would be great)

Cheers,  Great
Jim

Thanks John,

I hope your brother gets some valuable hits with his 1266X.

I see your possibly a beach hunter too, hows the Minelab Excalibur 1000 work at the beaches in the mid Atlantic region?

Congratulations on the new Fisher, Jim!  I've had a Fisher 1235-X for years.  I does a great job.  I'm giving it to my son and grandson for Christmas this year.  I have really liked it.  Simple to tune (turn it on) and go!  Have great fun with it.    Detecting

hello, Jim I enjoy your posts and I am curious about your opinion of the 1266x since you have had it for a while. I have one spotted and I am tempted to make the trip, just want to here from an owner. Thanks, Poptop!
