Fisher F75 & Fisher F-75 se LTD

Hi, I received my new F-75 LTD from Kellyco last week. I was very surprised to find in my users manual that it did allow frequency shifting. I was told that the F-75 had frequency shifting but the new F-75 se LTD did not. Now I feel a lot better being able to have my wife use the F-75 and I can use my new F-75 LTD in the same area. I was hoping that I could detect closer to her because we will be detecting in Alaska. We will be getting the two detectors going next week and I'll let you know how close we can get without  interference. Also we will play around with the different frequency setting from 1-7 on each machine to find the best settings.

Thank you KellycoChick. I will count on your help and I'm sure to need it. Ridge Runner, good thing my wife doesn't read this forum. I could be in trouble. No problem, I know it was all in fun.

Well today I took the two F-75 detectors out to see how close I could detect with them. The test was done with one detector turned on but laying on the ground. I made the test with each detector on the ground with the other unit detecting. They both showed the same results. I could get within three feet of the other detector. The F-75 LTD had a frequency shift at 7 and the F-75 had a frequency shift at 1.
Both units had a ground balance of 52-54. In the Discrimination mode for both units. The Sensitivity was 73. Disc level was 0. Notch was 0. # of tones was 2F. Process on the LTD was bP and the other was dE.
In all metal mode, Both were motion, threshhold was 0, sensitivity was 73. I was using the Black Widow head set.  I'm not sure how good the test was, with one laying on the ground. I could sure tell the difference when they were in different frequecy shift numbers.
It might be a little different when both are detecting but I'm sure I can get close to the other unit.  My next test will be with both units detecting. That could be next week.
Also I used a very small gold ring as the target and both detectors sounded loud at 7 to 8  Detecting inches.

G Dat Mate, If you have them both on and in their sweeping position and they work then that is fine,
So weldone for doing the test , so that is a good result, thanks for sharing

Steve, the MXTs are brilliant machines but not knowing how much you want to spend, so if you want to spend a few hundred then i'd look at the fisher F4 and any of the Tesoro's, but i would never go spending more than what the MXTs cost they are about as good as they get either get the MXT 300 or the MXT pro, but id set that price range as your limit because if they dont find it then its not there, but as i said check out the other models i have mentioned, I hope this helps
