This is a great entry level detector for a kid or someone who is looking to get started cheaply. Great bargain.

garret out done them selves when they made that detector it has alot of high end features underneath ,that makes it not so much for a kid but also an experienced hunter. very good machine

It is a good unit. Garrett achieved exactly what they wanted with this machine. Features of some of the higher end units but simple enough a beginner can easily use and at a price that won't break you.
