Shocked $15.00 that's R131.50 for that price I can have 20 cut by our local laser cutter.

You got to remember tht is having it cut, cost of the stainless steel, shipping, package, retractable reel, running to pick it up and then to the post office. It all adds up fast.  If you can have 20 cut for that, I will buy them off of you then! I pay more then that for 20. You better go check to see what the cost of 20 is! When can I buy 20 for $15.

Come on, old buddy. It takes a lot of engineering to design the prototype and then more to manufacture them in small quantities. Do me a favor. Go ahead and call your laser cutter and get a quote. I believe you might be off by a few decimal places in your estimate.

Remember your theory when you are manufacturing your own metal detectors. Would you sell them for parts value only? Nope. Let Pinewood make a little pocket change here.

Let me know when you have the CAD drawings ready. If he does them for you free, I'd be very surprised. Making just one could cost you up to $100.00 over here.

Look, Xavier, I do know you are a DIY guy but as an electronics engineer having mechanical needs now and again, you can't make just one of anything on the cheap. Give the guy a break here. If you don't want or need one, move along.

This guy dose the CAD drawing then cuts it while I'm waiting for the parts (For my implements) I even get to see them cutting it  Kiss you just have to love them laser cutters. Over here it's really not expensive at all, he did 30 pieces for me then bent them to 90 degrees at a fraction of the cost that it would have been had I bought the part from the agents. I will post a photo of it in the morning.

It's not morning there yet. Xavier is a dear personal friend of mine but I do disagree with him on this point. He may have a good mate that will help him out but not everyone can count on that.

Guess what? No matter how the discussion here goes, enough people who understand my points might buy one to make your venture worth while. Onward!
