Come on, guys. It really is all our own fault. We all look for the best price, even being elated when we save $5 or get a free sand scoop. The Chinese know this and they offer you a much cheaper clone of an item they know you want. They prey on you and you, in your burning desire to pay less, will jump at the chance to buy cheaper.

None of us wouuld consider paying $400 for a BlueRay player yet that would be the true cost of building it entirely in the US. Truth! Instead, we go to WalMart and buy it for $40 because those clever Chinese know and understand human nature. Deny it all you want but the fact remains that there is very noisy dislike for the price of a Minelab machine right here on this very forum. In this topic alone, there is dislike of the price for a Whtes machine.

Make a personal choice. A digging buddy of mine bought a clone after getting mad at a meeting for the closing of a detector shop 20 miles away. The sales there had dropped to zero and when we went out last, I saw two Chinese clones in his trunk. To maintain our friendship, I said nothing. But he can find a new detecting buddy. I make no bones about it. I will buy a cheaper Chinese item every time without shame. I just don't like the hypocrites who pretend they are above it all.

And that includes people here on this forum. There are bare boards of reverse engineered detectors and no end of people asking advice on which clone to buy.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

Guilty As Charged !  I buy 90% of my electronics parts from the Chines or Else.  Balance from from NewArk or Digikey.  Most if not all that was made in China or Else.  Do I pay 80 cents for a IC or do I pay 20 cents?  Emmm

As for Detectors You all know me .  CHEAPO JIM !  Never Ever thought about buying a clone.  American it is even if most the parts in them is CHINES.  Whites, Garrett , Tesoro or a First Texas product.

Please copy all of the detector brands that rob you from your hard earned cash with their idiotic super high prices. The cost of manufacturing a Minelab detector as an example incl. Ads, cannot justify the x10 prices that those greedy people charge you.

You know very little about such companies, The reason they cost what they do is because of the years of research and development that goes in making every model, You are not paying for just the detector you are paying for the 2,  3,,  4 years of designing and testing and retooling at the factory So do not come here with hope of ripping off any of the major companies work, Because if that is your goal then it is time for you to Leave,

Good Bye.

And then they turn around and provide the Chines complete Technical and other information on them with a contract to build 2000 of the widgets.  The Chines build 9000 extra of the widgets and sell them off for 100% Profit.
