Some worked palm wood also found there. Think it was a scraper.

Lastly a couple rocks I made in to cabochons.

Hard to say. Mid 1800's and earlier. Spotted an old fire site and the tailings were close by. About 2-3 foot had been washed out of the area exposing it. Don't know what time frame that would work out.

Did a quick check on the back ground of the area. Possibly up to woodlands era which could put them in the 1,000 to 3,000 years old.

Next trip coming up will be hunting for blue topaz. Just trying to watch the weather. Hoping for a couple cooler days. I'm going to try some metal detecting also. About 30 miles from where I'll be there have been some meteors found in the general location. Don't know if anything will come up but . Always worth a shot. I need to try to put together a portable classifier table. Just trying to figure out something I can set up to cover a wide range. I want it to pack in to one of those plastic storage containers like a desert fox is set up in. Figure a boat sump pump, battery, and some tubing. would cover a lot of use.

One thing I liked about these were the cracks. I actually passed on a few more. Just too much to portage out. One of the smaller pieces (About 6"x6") had a bee or grub hole in it. Got a couple 5 gallon buckets of small stuff from the same spot. Had the grand kids along and they ended up getting to swim in the creek, dig in the bank and get about a 5 gallon bucket also.

Shocked Wow!  Nice pictures.  The logs remind me of a time in the mid-70's a buddy and I were out exploring ghost towns in the mountains near our homes.  We camped along a small stream overnight.  Next morning after breakfast I went to the stream to wash the pans and found a small chunk of petrified wood in the water.  Didn't spend much time looking for more cause we had a full day ahead of us.  Wish I had gone back and looked for more!  Cry

Got any idea of the age on the points?
