Go Up Go Down

Here's a selection of a few bits and pieces I've collected at various location across south, southwest, and southeast England...

A before and after shot of a Jurassic Androgynoceras species ammonite collected at Seatown, Dorset. It took a little while to prep this one, but it was well worth the time:

Another fave Androgynoceras, also collected at Seatown:

And a few Eocene shark teeth - mostly various sand shark species - collected at Harwich, Essex, SE England. All found loose amongst the shingle on the foreshore:

And the beach itself:

Wow - that's totally great. I'd have fun just collecting interesting rocks at that beach. Sue

Hi,
Nice!........
Do you know if it's still o.k. to hunt around Lyme Regis?
Last I heard there was some kind of protection slapped on the area.... or I might be wrong!

Paul A, everything I've read online, including

, indicates it's ok to hunt in the region as long as you don't hammer on the cliff.....anything that has fallen off is fair game

It's a rock on the ground, it's a specimen when you take it home.

You did an awesome job cleaning that ammonite congrats.  Clapp
I know how difficult it can be to get one cleaned up to a presentable state.
I have seen these at fossil shows for sale and they ain't cheap!!!!!!!!!!!!! Something in the pic for scale would be a good reference. Just to show others size matters!!!! Cheesy

Again congrats, oh yeah the teeth are nice too, we find some here in Texas, in the cenomanian Cretaceous that look similar.
