It's a rock on the ground, it's a specimen when you take it home.

                                            Sue, Josey & ridgerunner,
1: The (polished) appearance is a natural effect caused by the
activity of the "Gizzard" during the act of digestion and
subsequent exposure to primordial conditions.

2: The material it self is entirely bone, it was at one time part of
a coprolite that had long since been dispersed from exposure at time of deposition.
I have dug "Petrified" Owl Pellets inside rock shelters before, in my experiences
in the Archaeological field, they all contained minute bones that are not present
in this specimen.  It is one piece of bone.
In fact it is largely the inside of a much larger bone,
that had been ingested right along with the flesh of another Dino.

3: The possibility of it being made by "Hand of Man" is not possible.
The deposit it was taken from is over 85 million years old.
I am aware of it "Looks Like something" perhaps man made,
that is entirely the reason for this post being titled "a little something".

The deposits around here in the "Woodbine" contain numerous dinosaur remains.
I have found several, usually when I find boney material too large for me to "pick up"
I contact SMU or the Dallas Paleo Society. They have the expertise , resources and
volunteers to extract the larger remains.

I am.........I can go in any direction and find places to find fossils or arrowheads.
The age range of the deposits range from Paleocene to Pennsylvanian.
Ice age mammal material to dinosaurs, to trilobites.

You're OK I took no offense.
I have found several specimens over the years that have been scarred by other creatures feasting on the carcass of another, but I have never found a specimen of bone with such profound gouging where tooth crunched bone. I just wish there had been more than just one small piece.
I like finding the Dino material because I normally only find the invertebrate stuff in the "Woodbine".
Usually when I find boney stuff it's either crocodile or turtle.
