Hi all,
I live in Armenia, Yerevan. My home situated 1400 м above sea level, against the backdrop of Mount Ararat.
I found many fossils nearest of my living place (see photo). The big part of  fossils are shelf calcium coral.
At times I find silicified corals there, and cutting, treating and polishing is my hobby.
What my be age of fossils?

Hello Sasha, Very nice fossils, I think they are from the Cretaceous---around 60 million years old.
It is very hard to tell because your region has lots of types of rocks,--I think the top left hand one could be a Crinoide--Called ---a sea lilly, (but is actually an animal)---And the one in the middle looks like a starfish--Brittle star.---
For better information you should logon to a British website called --www.ukge.co.uk  they are a friendly forum and you will be most welcome--I am a member myself. Smiley
Here are some British Cretacious fossils to compare.
The first one is a part of a Crinoide stem---looks similar to the top left on your picture.
The other is a brittle star (cleaned up) similar to your middle one.
Hope this helps......Regards..Stan.

Hi Sasha, I enjoyed looking at your fossils. What a nice area for searching. I like the one that is front row, right side. Sue

Hallo, Edjcox. The geologists will say about this place like that:

The relief of the site is extremely diverse. External factors that affect its formation are deep erosion of rivers, surface weathering and leaching (mild to medium strength) by temporary water flows, as well as gravitation processes of the slopes (landslides).
The group of layers is comprised of conglomerates of upper Oligocene to lower Miocene age, sandy-clay sediments, gypsum and saline clays.
The soil  is characterized as paleohydromorphic alloyed relict salty-alkaline sodium-sulfate-chloride weak clay soil type.
Present soil-cover is comprised of clay soils of various strength and their origin is associated with elementary clays of Miocene age formed in a lake basin.
See photo with fossils in field.
It's not bad idea to sell fossils!
Thank you.
Hallo, Sue. Here is photo with fossils in field. You can see other little fossils in the soil.

Wow Sasha, I'm with Sue on that one.....I'd go crazy having fun there (although I do remember a couple of places when I was teenagers that had fossils laying around all over the place like that....I think I still have a few of them)

The most interesting thing: maritime fossils on 1400 м above sea level!
Stan, very nice photos! The star is very impressive, and you are right, the sea lilly looks similar to the to one in my photo. Thank you for link, Sasha.
