hello everyone.was checking along the local river bank recently thinging maybe some fishing lures.it use to be a good place for salmon fishing,but not anymore.found a few salmon flies and lures also strong hits on what looks like rock but writes like marker or pencil,also turns your hand black,i think it might be graphite.i did not know that graphite was metalic any ideas anybody.

this tunrat169 here,no i don,t have any pictures yet,i need to learn how to transfur pic to labtop,this is a new to me.most of the rocks are round ,smooth 1/4 inch to1/2 inch thick.one is about 6 inch long 1/2 thick a set off a strong tone on my tesoco .if handled  a little they leave your hands black .i think it may be graphite, but i did not think graphite was metalic.

yeah, graphite can be very shiny so that it looks a bit like a metal

I live in Texas too.  I would like to find a local TH_ing club somewhere to plug into.

Meanwhile I have been doing some research into the old cattle drive trails and the paths they followed through Texas to Kansas.

So far I have not found any old maps that are detailed enough to show precisely where they were in the South Texas area.

What part of Texas do you dwell?
I am in Dallas and I know of 6 clubs in or near DFW.
