Hello everyone.

I found this forum by chance this evening when I was Google_ing fro ideas about searching old barns and houses for caches, etc.  Good ole Google led me to a posting by "Hardluck Wink" and now here I am.

I look forward to an exchange of ideas with everyone.

Peacemaker

Well, you could diamond.. but then we'd have to kill you. Cheesy

Of course you can! When you have questions to ask - there's another thread on this forum called 'Beginners' where a lot of new people to the forum (or the hobby) can ask questions there. Also - try doing the search at the top right of the webpage forum and see if possibly someone has already asked the same question!
Hope that helps.

BA:

Thank you for your welcome.  I am looking forward to a long association here.

When I have more time I will throw out some questions to you and others here.

Seldom:

I live in Texas too.  I would like to find a local TH_ing club somewhere to plug into.

Meanwhile I have been doing some research into the old cattle drive trails and the paths they followed through Texas to Kansas.

So far I have not found any old maps that are detailed enough to show precisely where they were in the South Texas area.

Welcome, from Morgan, Utah....where abouts are you from?  that usually paints a picture for finding a cache based off of historical fact, legends, and terrain etc

I live in Texas.  A lot of history here.

One day I hope to have the time to find some of the sites that can be hunted for historically significant items.

If I find a gold coin or two along the way the would be fine also.

Outstanding....well here in Utah where the stagecoach, pony express route, and outlaws were famous as well....robberies got so bad, that regular everday folk hid their items of value and money near to their house or on their property, and they sometimes hid it under large rocks so that it was easily identified whenever they came back to get it.  just a thought of where to start.  there are some places where these old stagecoach and pony express route stations were, that i think i might detect around a little bit.  the stock market crash also turned cache's into an American tradition because people refused to trust the banks afterwards.  any way, just some thoughts on what it is that I'm looking for and how i plan to go about doing it....keep in touch and happy hunting
