Well I went into this mineshaft with my detector thinking I was going to find a lucky vein of gold and came out with nothing ,  Why?  well there was so much much mineral interference I could not shut my detector up .  Has anybody got a formular for this type of situation ?

You could use a TR machine or a PI machine, both do well in high mineralization. The PI will go deeper. A rich lead was found here a few years ago in an old mine shaft with a detector. The old timers missed it by a foot or so. The gold was so rich it could be pried out with a screw driver.  Shocked
