It's a rock on the ground, it's a specimen when you take it home.

Yeah it's a flint nodule.
Pretty big chunk-a material. Some people would pay a little cash for dat specimen, but.
It's a little too big to mail from what I can tell.

If'n it's flint then maybe you either have it cut (might be spendy) or sell it to someone who makes flints for blackpowder shooter and reenactors.  Might be worth a princely sum.

Are flint nodules worth anything? Know where some monstrous boulders are. Some are jet black with a few whites swirls. Some are jet black. Some have a lot of red and gray. Some are twice the size of the one in the photo. I thought about cutting them into pollished slabs once and makeing clocks out of them but my tile wet saw isn't big enough.

That gentlemen is called chert it's like flint and hard to tell apart and like flint it is made up of millions upon millions of tiny sea creatures , It is the stuff old stone tools are made of and all throughout the areas of KENT and SUSSEX in the UK it is everywhere,
axes scrapers knives and other cutting tools are made from that and flint, OK
