Hi all first let me say I am glad to have found this site and thank you.
I found this non metallic stone 2 or 3 years ago up in either N.H. or ME. don't remember.
I was told it could be a meteorite from the Jurassic period. any thoughts?

Doubt if its a meteorite. But I think it is really neat. If you don't get an answer soon on what it is I'll try emailing the picture to some one I know who should be able to help.

I'm not thinking Meteor here but seen it before.

Yep, Dinosaur Poop!

No for real here. That is what I'm thinking.

Semi Dried up, Got under sand and fossilized.

Meteorites aren't classified that way. Your sample looks more like a fossil to me. Perhaps a piece of broken turtle shell? Hard to tell without actually seeing the sample close up in 3D.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

yup i agree Grin, at first glance it looked like a fossilized poop, then i read down a bit further and saw homies post i agree with him... a dino poop fossil. Tongue

this is mainly due to the shapes/segments shown in it similar to horse / sheep poop (herbivore),

here a picture of a modern day equivalent I found on the net  Grin Grin Grin
