While I was out last Sun I had the chance to look over an area that has recently been exposed. New road cuts with no rain holds little chance of finding much.
Still I managed a few specimens.
1. Small clams from the Woodbine formation (Dentonia leveretti)
2.&3. Small snails from the Arcadia park member of the Eagleford formation
Gyrodes top center, Anchura in matrix and free stone, and one small turritella.
4. Matrix containing a small Placenticeras, a small piece of carbonized wood and other assorted ammonites such as Metoicoceras (Ammonite) Britton member.
Note: Heavy machinery was not kind to this specimen. Shattered most of the stone and scattered it out along the hill side.
5.&6. Housing chamber of a Prionotropis (Ammonite) Arcadia Park member.
I would like to find a large one of these with this preservation (Pearlesant shell intact)
I will post more as they are available (Found)
I never go looking, I GO FINDING!
