Suggestion use it for a few hours in the dry sand in standard mode.
Why? That way you can get used to the difference between the DD coil and the  other coils feedback on targets. A simple way to look at it is the center section of the DD coil acts like a separator left/right side. really fast response and separation.

 When you get used to that then try pro mode in coin for a short while. Then go to pro mode and use the built in settings getting used to the iron sounds. Total difference in sounds. Let your ear get used to the three different sounds low/med/high.

 Now just for fun and learning throw a bottle cap on the sand. Approach it left/right and listen to the iron audio sounds.


 Now place a coin and try pin pointing see how close it responds to centering.

Now you will be better prepared for what you cannot see under the sand.
Also the sounds in pro mode will me better understood.
