Anyone else have this problem? I just got my headphone adapter and found when I plug in my phones, the phones work OK,but it doesn't shut off the AT pro's main speaker. I also have a fisher F 75 and there's no problem at all using same phones. What the$%^#&*

Are you sure you have the right headphones? The unit is supposed to have a waterproof headphone connector.

The water proof connector is on the adapter,it doesn't matter what headphones you use. That's what the adapter is supposed to be for.

I really don't know that machine.   Is it posible to put the connector on upside down as it's only two pins?

Does it have a Ref Key to prevent it from going in the wrong way?

Unlike a regulare phono jack  that opens up the speaker leads when inserted, it has to have some way to open the speaker leads.

Do you see any thing like that?

Sorry. I understand now. I was trying to figure out how you used it for both machines.

Question: Yes you have the adapter but what brand headphones?

The AT Pro is sensitive to the ohms on the line.

If you have a weak connection are in line volume control turned down the speaker turns ON at a certain thresh hold.

So if your using Fishers Headphones the resistance could be your problem. If there Garrett I would say you have a weak connection.

Hope this helps?   Welcome

I was looking at the AT Pro for purchase but then I started reading that they had some problems with leakage, the adaptor plug, and the need for  cam locks, as well as other things, so I digressed. Now I'm seeing them popping up on ebay right and left so I'm kind of glad I passed on it. They do have the new AT Gold out now, it's supposed to be better, but also costs more money.

The AT Gold is not recommended for surf hunting.
It is geared more around gold hunting.

The At Pro had a few bugs in the beginning. Mine took on water and was promptly replaced.
Now I have had had no problems.
I figure it was maybe a assembly problem on the first one.
Anyway they made it good, what more can one ask.

Yes they corrected all those problems on the first run.

The Head phone adapter he has was second party.
