GD, the Timing thing is not a Wives Tail!

It sure is. That pulse has nothing to do with what kind of metal it will detect. The signals you are looking at are just waveforms that every PI unit produces. That is the RETURN signal of various metals, not the signal you change by changing your resistor. Don't confuse the blanking pulse (the one you changed with the resistor change) with the images you have there showing the return signal within the RECEIVER pulse width.

This is the kind of thing I am referring to when I ask you to do more research before you just leap in and give bad advice.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

That is the Response to various metals being returned to the detector after the Transmit Pulse has been shut down.

All metals do not return the same type of signals.

Correct but that has nothing to do with the delay.

The resistor I changed shortened the delay time between the Transmit Shut down and the Sample time being used.

Correct again but unfortunately that also has nothing at all to do with the waveforms you provided which are from the RECEIVER. The resistor you changed changed the TRANSMIT pulse receiver BLANKING. Now on the other hand, had it changed the quiescent time of the transmitter, that would have made a difference. But, it doesn't.

Kindly stop discussing this now. You will confuse newbies with your nonsense.

The resistor I changed reduced the Delay from shut off of transmit puls to Sample time.

With out it  the detector would not detect a 1/4 gram nugget.    Now it will.

Not related. Seriously. It's a wives' tale, old buddy.
