I found one of these cheap for $55 and thinking about buying it. It has the original box, manual and earphones. It looks to be the old TR detector and I was wondering if any body has any knowledge on this machine. I thought about buying it and reselling. Thanks fo any input....Warren

Is it the Long  or the Small one?

One was TR and other VLF/TR

Those are a Variant of the Ground Hog.

VLF/TR

Good machines.

Homefire,

It seems to be the long one from the picture he sent me. It does not have all the controls like the Groundhog and it looks to have the Twin-circuit coil. i found a better picture online that seems to be the same one manufactures between 1973 to 1976. I just wanted to get a few opinions before I went to get it. It does not have and controls on the top of the box and only has the meter and speaker....Warren

The old Garrett's are truly great machines, however when it comes to tuning, they are quite complicated although I have had some success with my Groundhog/Gold Hunter I don't believe I have ever actually tuned it right. to bloody complicated if you have more luck doing that, then I would say it's a very serious machine and should serve you well. And if you really like it. then thats all that counts.

That's the old TR.

Not much in the Depth department.

$50.00  ??

You could do better with the money.

That one looks a bit rough.

The VLF machine was Kick But.

I have the ADC in the long version waiting for a coil.

Yea I was wondering if you got it as it said it was sent then I noticed in red it said your MSG box was full. In a nutshell I have the coil, however I would want to sell the whole machine, as without the coil. It probably wouldn't be good for much but a paper weight lol. Did you have a bounty Hunter pin pointer for sale Huh?

Na! on the pin pointer.

Not in a hurry on a coil.   They show up from time to time.

Thanks.

My PM is working fine.    I just got one from Bitburg a minute ago.

No worries, all good. Am looking to update my equipment, and would just rather see it go to a good home where someone knows how to use it, I guess im sentimental ( or just plain mental lol) I just would hate the thought of it laying in a cupboard.
