Fish, the worst thing about the Pro Pointer is that if you forget it and leave it at home, you'll not even want to hunt!  I keep mine in a large tool carrier along with all the other necessary paraphernalia, but I always check before leaving home.  It is a professional piece of equipment and functions flawlessly.  Remember, when you get involved in a large, deep hole, just detune the Pro Pointer by turning it off, placing it near the bottom of the hole, then turn it back on.  This has saved me a lot of time and digging.  The 9-volt battery seems to last forever.  I'm on the second battery in a year, and that's after a whole lot of use.  Luck.  Jugg.

Newbie here - I don't have my ProPointer yet, it's in the mail.  Can you describe further why you have to do this?    Huh?  Appreciate the info, Thanks! Happy Hunting!

You do that because there is no allowance for ground balancing in a Pro Pointer. Be mindful of one thing. If you just happen to turn it back on exactly over your target, it will remain forever silent until you turn it off and on again.

This is very true.........It does not take long to get accustomed to it's "special" needs.
I have one and I have it strapped to my Garrett. That way it never gets left in the truck or at home.
It comes with a holster and with very little effort it can be mounted to any detector.
 Isn't Velcro wonderful stuff........
